Special Events 2025

Please join us for the following special events

Friday July 25th. 10am – 4 pm. The Tudor barber-surgeon is ready to see you!

The Tudor physician and barber-surgeon has a wealth of cures and treatments, many of which are strange to our modern eyes.  This was a time of change and whereas most medicine was still rooted in the ‘four humours’ of Greek and Roman times, some practitioners were moving to a more symptom-driven approach.  However, the ‘Old Guard’ still held sway for most medical treatments for most people and so blood-letting, fast surgery and strange potions were still standard practices.

Drop in FREE Entry.

Saturday July 26th. 11 am – 4 pm. Andy Frape and Taynton Detectorists

You might have heard about them on TV but now is your chance to meet the Local Legend that is Andy Frape. Andy will be bringing his impressive finds of Roman Coins, Clay pipes and many other amazing items from over 30 years of scouring the county for interesting finds that can be saved for everyone’s benefit.

Free Entry, Donations welcome.
