Folk Management Board
The Folk Management Board, led by Gareth Jayne, comprises a number of trustees and the Folk Operations Manager and manages all aspects of the operation of The Folk as a Community Heritage Centre.
Our aim is primarily to conserve these magnificent buildings for future generations while providing community facilities and a focus on the unique heritage of the collection of Tudor town houses and more recent additions. To help fund this work we operate a café with a ‘secret’ garden area, operate events and provide meeting spaces in our modern ‘EdShed’ building.
Resilience and Sustainability are key to the project and while we have already received funding from the National Lottery, Cathedral Quarter and others there is a need to develop a high-quality income generator to support the huge amount of work needed in the coming years. To achieve this a separate Funding and Development group has been created to find the money and design the next stage.
