For centuries, fishermen along the River Severn wove willow baskets or “putchers” to trap eels. In this workshop, you will learn to use the same techniques to make a beautiful woven bird feeder. No eels harmed in the process!
You will also have the opportunity to make a wicker eel ornament.
This workshop is led by experienced instructor Helen Lomberg from Wonderful Willows and is part of our summer programme celebrating the past and future of Gloucester’s eel populations.
Tickets are £10 for general admission and £5 for all concessions. All materials provided.
