The Discovery Centre has reopened for the summer, and we’re delighted to welcome Cotswold Archaeology and our volunteers back into the space from Thu 2 Jun – Sat 10 Oct.
Across this period, the team will be on site every Thursday, Friday and Saturday, working together to process another 1,000 boxes of Gloucester archaeology – beginning with material from Eastgate, Northgate and an intriguing dig from Bourton on the Water.
Visitors are invited to drop in, meet the archaeologists and volunteers, and watch real behind the scenes work unfold. The Discovery Centre remains a place to slow down, look closely and explore objects from the city’s past, with a themed trail available for younger visitors.
This programme is made possible thanks to Arts Council England, Cotswold Archaeology, and our incredible volunteers, whose expertise and enthusiasm bring the space to life.
