Event Details

Pottery is one of the most abundant finds on any excavation of an archaeological site of the Roman period, and it has been studied intensively for more than a century.

The changes in shapes and sources of Roman pottery can be an important, and sometimes the only, evidence of the precise date of activity on a site.
