Professor Janina Ramirez is pleased to announce the History Festival Spring Weekend:

I can’t tell you how thrilled I am that the History Festival’s Spring Weekend is back with a packed programme in the glorious surroundings of Gloucester’s medieval Blackfriars Priory this April. And not just because it gives me a great excuse to come back to my beloved Gloucester!

Our speakers include historians Ian Mortimer with a controversial and brand new talk on the fake death of Edward II and Max Adams exploring the life and times of Anglo-Saxon King Offa Former Deputy Prime Minister Michael Heseltine discussed 50 years in Westminster, Laurence Llewelyn Bowen joins me to celebrate history and design, Phil Moss and Andy Miners reveal the treasures of 32 Westgate St – England’s finest Tudor façade which I visited and filmed back in September – and we round off the Weekend with top archaeologist and Coast presenter Mark Horton revealing the Hidden Vikings of Gloucestershire.

And new this year the Spring Weekend is live-streamed so you can enjoy events at home or in person in Gloucester. Tickets on sale now: www.gloucesterhistoryfestival.co.uk

Look forward to seeing you in April!
