We’re delighted to announce that The Folk of Gloucester has been nominated for Cultural Venue of the Year in the Gloucestershire Lifestyle Awards 2025! It’s really heartening to hear that we’ve become known as one of the go-to places for cultural events in the county.

Last year, we were proud to showcase local history and traditions at our yearly Apple Day and Wassail events, which featured Morris dancing, folk music and a traditional horse-drawn cider press. We are glad that we can keep these centuries-old customs alive and bring them to families in central Gloucester who may not otherwise have access to them.

We were equally proud to showcase the Gloucester’s current vibrant community through our Ukrainian Festival, Heritage Open Days and the Westgate Street Brick Project.

This Spring, we can look forward to Tudor Day, live folk gigs from Johnny Coppin, Filkin’s Drift and Sarah McQuaid, and a bigger Ukrainian festival than ever before.

It would make a huge difference to us if you could vote for us in these prestigious countywide awards. Winning would significantly raise the profile of the folk, allowing us secure funding for even more exciting projects and get more people through our doors to enjoy our events.

Please go to soglos.com/lifestyle-awards/ to vote. You will need to create a free account with SoGlos, but it takes less than a minute and you don’t have to sign up to anything.

Thank you for your support!
