St John’s Talk – Sir Thomas Rich

Sir Thomas Rich. A talk by Paul Drinkwater. Gloucester born Thomas Rich was baptised in St John’s Church but was educated in London and Oxford and spent much of his life in Sonning, near Reading, where there was a Bluecoat School which he supported. When de died he left money for the establishment of a similar Bluecoat School in Gloucester. Today it is situated in Longlevens and is called Sir Thomas Rich’s School.
