Sheriff’s Assize of Ale Walk – Heritage Open Days Event

Follow the historic Sheriff’s Assize of Ale as it visits various city pubs during the afternoon and early evening.

The Assize dates back to medieval times when the Sheriff was responsible for checking that the ale on sale in the city was of palatable quality.
