Ivor Gurney Hall – Heritage Open Days Event

September 10, 2016 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Free

The Ivor Gurney Hall is the King’s School’s 19th century schoolroom. It was extensively restored in 2015 to bring out the glory of its arch-braced roof in a striking multi-coloured style associated with the Gothic Revival movement.

Tours will look at the building and include details of school life in the 19th century, with a special focus on the life of Ivor Gurney, after whom the building is now named.

Tours will be on the hour and half-hour  from 10.00am to 1.00pm on Saturday and 2.00pm to 4.00pm on Sunday and will last 20 minutes.

No booking required.

Access is via the old playground at the rear of the Cathedral which is reached from Pitt Street.

This event is one of a number making up the Gloucester History Festival and Heritage Open Days.
