Heritage Open Days St John’s Northgate

Classical Georgian church, opened in 1734.

Only tower and spire survive from earlier medieval building; the top is now in nearby St Lucy’s Walk.

Medieval font. East window installed in 1880 to commemorate centenary of the Sunday School movement.

The Methodist Church now has full responsibility for the building.

There will be various musical events at St John’s during the Heritage Open Days.
