Gloucester Civic Trust Talk – Henry Hooke

Those who saw the film Zulu will probably remember Henry Hooke, the hospital orderly who received the Victoria Cross following the 1879 battle at Rorke’s Drift.

Unfortunately, the film’s depiction of Hooke was inaccurate.

Tonight, Paul Barnett will give us the true story of Hooke, who was born and buried in Churcham.
