This year is the 150th anniversary of Beatrix Potter’s birth.
In 1903, she published one of her most loved tales, The Tailor of Gloucester, inspired by a visit she made to the city.
See the building on which she based her story and meet the Tailor, Simpkin the cat and a host of other characters.
Also see the animated mice sewing in the upper room or watch a Peter Rabbit DVD.
A FREE guided walk around places of Gloucester connected with Beatrix Potter is also available on Thursday, Friday and Sunday at 2.30pm and Saturday at 11.00am and 2.30pm. Pre-booking for the tours is required. Tickets available from the Tourist Information Centre in Southgate Street. Meet outside the Beatrix Potter Museum.
The Museum is situated in College Court by the Cathedral and is open from Thursday to Sunday from 10.00am to 4.00pm.
This event is one of a number making up Gloucester History Festival and Heritage Open Days.
