Founded in 1239 on a site that had once been a part of Gloucester’s Norman castle, the Black Friars were of the Dominican order founded in 1217 by St Dominic. Through the centuries the site gathered an incredible history, from becoming the private Mansion of Sir Thomas Bell in the early 16th century to later housing Talbot’s bottling factory.
Join us for a fascinating tour of the building and its various rooms, lead by an expert Gloucester Civic Trust tour guide. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and learn all about the amazing historic landmark site, and the stories the walls have watched unfold over the centuries.
Cost £7.00 Pre booking is advised to avoid disappointment.
