THE FOLK OF GLOUCESTER

EXPLORE THE HISTORIC TUDOR BUILDING IN GLOUCESTER.

The Folk of Gloucester is situated within a 16th century Tudor building on Westgate Street. Formerly Gloucester Folk Museum, we are now run by Gloucester Civic Trust, a registered charity. By honouring and learning about our past, and bringing people together in the present, our aim is to keep the history of Gloucester city alive through the telling of stories.

Opening Hours (free entry): Tuesdays 10am – 12.30pm; Thursdays, Fridays and Saturday 10am – 4pm.
CHRISTMAS OPENING TIMES: CLOSED 24th – 29th December, OPEN 30th December, CLOSED 31st December & 1st January.

Café open Tuesday mornings and Thursday – Saturday. Hot food served 11am – 2pm Thursday – Saturday.

Be a part of Gloucester’s history and make a real difference to your community by volunteering at the Folk. The Folk is run by a friendly team of volunteers but we always need more. It’s a great way to make the most of your skills, learn new skills, make new friends and have fun. There are lots of opportunities such as meeting and greeting, helping in the cafe and bar, conducting tours, organising our events, stewarding, building maintenance, administration and lots more.
