Gloucester Co-operative from 1860. A talk by Minette Lane. A story of determination, passion and sheer hard graft. In 1860 a group of like-minded people started a local Co-operative Store, the forerunner to the many local Co-Op shops in the area to this day. People like Joseph Clay, whose plaque is in Brunswick Road – Parkers Row – near to the first store that was established in 1867.
