The Tower of Light

Tuesday, December 15th, 2009

Plans are afoot to light up St Michael’s Tower at night. Discussions are taking place with Gloucester City Council and a team of lighting specialists. The aim is to sensitively light up the whole of the Tower during the evening to help make the Cross area more attractive and to make the Tower more attractive for our users. This is Phase 2 of the St Michael’s Tower restoration project.

Visitor Information Point (VIP) Returns to Gloucester Docks

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009
The Civic Trust’s Visitor Information Point has moved from its base in College Street, and is in the throws of relocating to the National Waterways Museum in the Docks.
The VIP was located in the Docks for many years until it lost its home in Merchants Quay. The VIP will continue to provide a first class service to visitors in the Docks and will encourage them to explore the city centre.
