GLOUCESTER DAY – September 5th 2009

The Siege of Gloucester 1643

Meet Captain Hazard and his Soldiers, 10.00 am - 4.30 pm, as they defend Gloucester against the King’s men.

From 18 August 1643 until 5 September, Gloucester Folk were held under siege. They had little food and ammunition, yet still held off the King’s men and saw them off.

Come and find out what life was like living under siege.

Story teller Ruth Moore Williams will enthral you with her tales of the part Gloucester folk played in this history changing event.

Join Colonel Curzon on our Siege Tour at 11.00 am. He’ll hold you prisoner for an hour, while he takes you on the siege route!
