Gloucester Civic trust is working in partnership with St Mary de Crypt, trying to seek funds to refurbish the Old School Room. Grant providers have been approached to test the water. It’s early days, but things look positive.

Friday, June 5th, 2009Civic Trust member John Rhodes was recently apointed to the Llanthony Secunda Priory Trust to represent Gloucester Civic Trust.
John Rhodes reports the achievements of the Priory Trust as very promising. LPST wishes to create a sustainable future for Llanthony Priory.
So far LSPT has:
- Have agreed a maintenance contract with Gloucestershire College
- Have commissioned a Fabric Condition Report
- Commissioned a Conservation Plan
- Have examined options for the site to bring it back into use again
- Looked at possible grant providers
St Michaels Tower redevelopment
Thursday, April 23rd, 2009Walking through ‘The Cross’ in Gloucester you’ll notice the boarding has gone up around St Michaels Tower. Thanks to Heritage Lottery Funding, our hopes of making the Tower an arts and cultural centre are becoming reality.
The Tower is being restored after a long period of dereliction into a useful centre for locals and visitors alike. The Tower is due to open in June 2009. We look forward to welcoming you then!
