Gloucester Civic Trust have announced July 31st as the opening day for St Michaels Tower. Members of the trust will attend a preliminary `Tower opening event’ on that day and experience the available range of Audio/Visual equipment designed to provide coverage of the history and heritage of Gloucester. Hop, skip and jump down to the folk museum for a fun filled day celebrating Gloucester’s folk traditions.
On Saturday 25th July from 11am-3 pm the city’s Folk Museum will be home to some of the best of Gloucestershire’s folk musicians and dancers.

That’s what’s on offer for the next two weeks with the launch of the Strolling in Gloucestershire Festival this weekend. It sees the official start of a health walks programme, ‘ put your best foot forward’ being co-ordinated by the city council in association with the ‘walking the way to health’ scheme. (more…)
