Museums Makeover

Both City Council run museums in Gloucester are set for major makeovers.

The City Museum and Art Gallery in Brunswick Road and the Folk Museum in Westgate Street have received a total of £730,000 from the Heritage Lottery Fund.

Now work will start later this year on major projects that will improve the facilities in both buildings.The Folk Museum will get a new purpose built education block and improvements to a gallery. (more…)

Free guide to Waterside Walks in Gloucester available

A free guide highlighting four waterside walks between the Gloucester Sharpness Canal and River Severn is now available from the Tourist Information Centre in the city.

The four walks range from 1.5 - 5.5 miles and take in little known glorious countryside on the doorstep of Gloucester.

College grounds cleared by trust

A city grotspot has been cleaned up thanks to Gloucester Civic Trust.

The society collected 21 bin bags of rubbish from the grounds of the former Gloscat college in Brunswick Road in a litter pick last weekend.
