As many of you know the demolition of the former Gloscat site has been well underway these past two weeks.

Although Gloucester Civic Trust had assurances from Linden Homes that the two bronze doors would be saved and are to be incorporated into the new scheme, we had no such assurances about the beautiful Coat of Arms above the main entrance.

Pressure was placed upon Linden Homes this week as we noticed the Coat of Arms was on the point of being reduced to rubble.

We’re happy to report that the Coat of Arms are now safe in the City Council’s store and hopefully can be included in the development scheme.
